It is the week of MWC 2022 and there have been many announcements, including the announcement of the Honor Magic 4 flagship line, the Huawei MatePad Paper, and the global launch of the OnePlus 10 Pro.

It's that latest announcement that we're focusing on here, and if you've been following tech news, you might think you already know all about the OnePlus 10 Pro. It was announced for China back in January, after all, but now we know a few more details.

These include the most important release date, as well as two other pretty big pieces of news, which you can find below.

1. It will land in March

When the OnePlus 10 Pro was announced for China, it didn't have a release date for the rest of the world, but now we have one, or at least a month from now.

OnePlus has confirmed that the OnePlus 10 Pro will hit stores in North America, Europe, and India in March, but the company has yet to provide an exact date. Still, there is not much to wait now, and we hope that the actual date will be revealed soon.

Note that those in Australia won't be getting the OnePlus 10 Pro, as the brand doesn't currently sell its phones there.

2. It won’t be joined by a OnePlus 10

We always assumed we'd eventually see a standard OnePlus 10 alongside the OnePlus 10 Pro. It makes sense, after all: OnePlus usually releases two models, and the Pro name implies there should be a non-Pro version too (otherwise there might be called OnePlus 10).

But despite all that, the company has revealed that there won't be a OnePlus 10. It's the first time the company has released a single flagship model (not counting T entries) since 2018.

Still, the confusing name aside from that makes sense as OnePlus has gone from making a few phones to making a lot, so while there won't be a OnePlus 10, there are plenty of other OnePlus options.

3. It won’t switch to Oppo’s ColorOS

This isn't so much new information as it is a change of direction, as OnePlus has backtracked on its plan to use Oppo's ColorOS operating system on its smartphones.

Oppo now owns OnePlus, so using ColorOS would make sense in a way, but the fans are, well, OnePlus OxygenOS fans, so they weren't happy with that plan. As a result, OnePlus has confirmed that it will continue with OxygenOS, so the OnePlus 10 Pro will arrive with OxygenOS 12.1.

That said, going forward, the two operating systems will share a code base, so OxygenOS could start to look more like ColorOS, even if it doesn't take the name.
